Make-Up by Maxima

My friend Vendetta or "Maxima" as some of you may know her, approached Pure for a make-up session shoot that took place last weekend at the Trupial Inn in Curacao. Vendetta has been working in the beauty industry for a while now and has plenty of experience with the famous air brush technique. So this is a sneak peek of the shoot taken at the pool of the renovated Trupial Inn which is absolutely stunning by the way. Fall Colors: Thinking Cobalt Blue

Happy Friday bugs! The fall season is just around the corner! Ofcourse, very inconvenient for us who live in the Caribbean to rock a cool knitwear sweater, but let alone a trenchcoat in this sunny weather. So what´s the most closest solution to this problem for all us Caribbean fashion lovers? Try Fall colors instead.  For those of you that are not as ready yet to store your brights and colors away, go for the closest pop of color that goes against the traditional fall muted palette colors: Cobalt blue that is!

Big name designers that used cobalt blue in their collections or accents of it are such names as Diane von Furstenberg and Antoni & Alison. Not convinced to go totally cobalt blue? Tone your look down by wearing soft gold pumps and clutch but if you are more on the daring side go totally blue from top to bottom with these beautiful complimentary looks I´ve collected for you to give you an idea. Remember your makeup must be flawless and smokey blue, Ha ha!

Of course, you can always opt for wine red, forest green or blacks for fall but to stand up from the crowd THIS is the color to go for,..for sure!

Curacao FW Make-up by Vendetta

Took the liberty of creating a collage for a friend Vendetta Maat (known as Maxima Maat on FB), of the make-up she did on me for Curacao Fashion Week. "Detta" uses MAC, Inglot, Revlon, Maybeline NY and Milan cosmetics on her clients. "Detta" was also the make-up artist during the Pure photoshoot for our online catalog, just check out the banner at the top of this page or click HERE for more photos. She has assisted carnaval groups with their fantasy make-up and has worked at Otro Kara to say the least. Her asking price is better than what you may think...!

April 28th photoshoot make-up on models

 She did a great job since I've received various compliments about my smokey eyes especially on the last night of the event. Pictures were taken with a phone cam but trust me, the eyes looked way better in person. I wanted to try smokey for all looks since I cannot do it myself and never did it before. Too bad that I didn't take a picture of the first night but for that one we tried complete different colors than what you can see here namely, smokey-aqua with a blend of soft red.
